Five years ago, Guidion launched the ‘Happiness Barometer’. This tool helps organisations to stimulate conversations about happiness, to give feedback, to look back on positive moments, and to create a moment of mindfulness about what you can do to enhance happiness at work. The results will be shared within the team and via the ‘Happiness Wall’, which will be a central place within the office.
The most important lessons learned by Guidion over the past few years are:
1. A number only is insufficient. It is important to know what really goes on in the office in order to change;
2. Comparing teams when it comes to quantitative numbers can evolve in competitiveness, this completely misses the point;
3. Long repetitive questionnaires are not adequately answered.
4. The measurement of happiness, works best when it is used to spark conversation about that said topic.
